A two-vehicle accident in Habersham County left one person with serious injuries early Friday afternoon.
The collision happened in the southbound lanes of Ga. 365 at Demorest-Mt. Airy Highway, according to Habersham County Emergency Services Public Information Officer Rob Moore.
"Emergency personnel were dispatched at 1:43 p.m. Nov. 1, with units from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Habersham County Emergency Services, Demorest Police Department, and Demorest Fire Department responding," Moore said early Saturday evening.
One driver was transported from the scene to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville, while a second person was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham.
Moore said local traffic was impacted by emergency response and clean-up crews for just under an hour.
"Northbound and southbound traffic on Ga. 365 was able to flow with minor interruptions, while cross traffic on Demorest-Mt. Airy Highway through the intersection was blocked for the duration of the response and clean-up," he said.
The roadway was fully reopened to traffic at 2:54 p.m.
